ABOUT ME

I am a researcher and educator with a background in high-performance computing (HPC) and parallel programming. My academic journey began at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), where I completed my master’s degree under the advice of Professor Lucas M. Schonorr. During this time, I focused on parallel programming using C/C++ and conducted extensive performance analysis. The outcomes of my research, which showcased promising results, can be explored in my repository on Bitbucket (https://bitbucket.org/jhmkorndorfer/jonas-masters-degree-repository) and my master’s thesis (http://www.lume.ufrgs.br/ handle / 10183/149310).

Building upon my master’s research, I pursued a Ph.D. at the University of Basel (UNIBAS) in Switzerland, under the mentorship of Professor Florina Ciorba. My doctoral dissertation centered on multi-level scheduling, exploring the potential and possibilities of coordinating and cooperating across various levels of scheduling.

Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher and Teaching Assistant at UNIBAS’s HPC group, where I continue to contribute to research and mentor the next generation of computational scientists. My research interests span a wide range of topics within HPC, including the development of HPC applications, performance analysis, scheduling strategies, load balancing techniques, and data analysis methodologies.
